The Dr. Betty Shabazz Delta Academy is a unique program that incorporates a variety of monthly activities to enhance the lives of young women ages 11- 14 years old. Members of The Federal City Alumnae Chapter use their energy, expertise, and enthusiasm to reach back to our next generation of young women to enrich their minds and lives.
Delta Academy's focus is to provide experiences that will assist today's young women grown individually and academically. The Delta Academy achieves these objectives by working to increase self-esteem and knowledge and appreciation of our technologically advancing world.
Delta Academy's primary focus of the program includes:
- Self Esteem
- Effective Decision Making
- Healthy Relationships
- Proper Body Image
- Sexual Health
- Nutrition and Fitness
- Leadership Development
- Community Action & Service
- Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) and
- Exposure to Non-Traditional Careers for Women
